Crown Information for Arrival of Students for Rehearsals

SCHOOL BUSES

Buses will unload students behind the Crown Theatre. Teachers and students will be met by a Bus Marshal and concert Marshal. The concert marshal will direct students and staff along a yellow path through the car park area to the base of an escalator. The escalator will take the students up to road level where they will then walk to the front of the Crown Theatre.

EQUIPMENT

Most schools have a myriad of equipment as part of their item. With the exception of small instruments such as recorders or flutes it will be too far for most equipment to be carried by students. The only alternative will be through the Loading Bay and up via the stage lift … however…. the lift cannot be used while students are about so two options are available. 

1. Afternoons, 1:00 to 3:00 on the day before the concert or 

2. Early, 8:30 to 9:00 on the morning of the concert. 

This will be a huge inconvenience for schools to arrange but there are no other viable options. 

Likewise after the concert material that can’t be carried 300m will have to be taken out after the show down the lift or collected at 8:30 the following morning.

All schools are asked to consider their best options and then to inform their Managers so that we can inform Crown of likely arrival times. The Loading Dock, for security reasons is always locked and you will need to phone so that staff can open up.
